Halloween seemed to kind of sneak up on us this year. With most of our belongings still in storage out in California, we didn't get to do our usual Halloween decorating starting September 1.
Logan was the only person in the family who knew what he wanted to dress up like for several weeks. In fact, he got his costume as part of his birthday present. He was very specific about his costume. He was disturbed that he had "white" hair and the Hulk had black. So we had to buy hair paint and spray it. He also wanted to wear green makeup under his mask so you couldn't see his pink skin.
Lauren had planned on being a "Candy Corn Witch" for a couple of months. But when it came down to actually buying the costume, she chose a regular witch. No idea why, but she was pretty cute.
Living in this small town is really great. They had a trunk-or-treat and Lauren went to a Halloween party that ended with trick-or-treating in a nice area of town. A lot of the people were sitting outside waiting for their guests to come, and one even had a haunted house in the garage. I saw several homemade yard decorations that I think I will see if Mike can make for next year.
While Lauren was at her party, we took Logan and went to the trunk-or-treat. We got to see Jason, Leigh and Jaycee(cousins)while we were there. We took Logan and ate where he wanted for supper, Subway. It was really cute too, because it is actually Lauren's favorite place to eat and while we were sitting eating, he said "Too bad Lauren couldn't be here." He just loves his big sister.
We were going to have Logan go trick-or-treating with Lauren and her friends, but they left the party house before we got there. So Mike and I walked with Logan. We got to see more cousins out walking. He thought it was great fun to see all the houses and friends from school. But after about 30 min of walking, he said, "Mom, my feet are killin' me!" So Mike went and got the car and picked us up. We finally located Lauren back at the party house and headed home.
It was just such a fun family evening. No crazy teenagers out egging cars, but lots of families going door-to-door having fun. I don't think we have ever really done much door-to-door, but it was nice.
We hope your Halloween was as fun and safe as ours was. Till next year, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
